Tom Szostak is the Director of Healthcare Economics for Canon Medical Systems USA and an expert on health care policy. He serves as an advisor to purchasing organizations, health systems and medical societies in matters regarding health economics, policy, reform and reimbursement. He has authored a series of papers on the Affordable Care Act for AHRA and published white papers on the economics and outcomes on the acute stroke population through changing clinical pathways.
He was recently appointed to the patient navigation advisory board at the University of California at Irvine Medical Center where he serves as a member at-large. The board is tasked with improving the patient, family and caregiver experience with a focus on cancer care. With more than 19 years of experience in health care economics, he has held several financial and economic positions at companies including B. Braun Medical and Radiology Practice Management. He also is a member of the American Society of Health Economists and the Healthcare Finance Management Association.
