JHU Cardiac CT Level II Certification Course

This Cardiac CT program offers 20 hours of didactic lectures on patient selection, preparation, imaging principles and techniques, contrast material, cardiac anatomy, assessment of cardiac function and pathology. Training activities include observation of the acquisition of 50 patient examinations and hands on 3D post processing sessions. A review of over 150 Coronary CTA cases to demonstrate the variety of pathology which can be evaluated by CT. A minimum of 100 cases will be reviewed during the 5 days of the course. Participants will be evaluated by means of practical tests demonstrating proficiency with the use of the workstation. A home study program follows the onsite training. Interpretation of 50 case studies and other elements of the course are submitted for course completion while monitored by the education department. This instructor led course is designed as to be interactive with plenty of hands-on experience on fully-functional equipment to facilitate a smooth transition to your new CT system. This course is appropriate for Aquilion ONE, Vision, Genesis and Prism customers.

This program utilizes the latest Aquilion ONE: Prism Edition Advanced CT system.

At the completion of the course you will be proficient in the following applications and operations: principles of volumetric and helical acquisition, protocol and parameter manipulation, image processing and workflows for basic and advanced imaging studies. Following the CT modality course, this one day technologist-focused course held at the Institute of Advanced Imaging in Irvine, California, provides a foundation of cardiac anatomy and physiology of volumetric image data. The vendor neutral advanced hardware stations are used to post-process in renderings that enhance the interpretation of the CT image data. The educational framework provides the tasks associated with 3-D image post processing for CT Cardiac scans acquired for Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring, Cardiac Vessel Analysis, and Cardiac Function Analysis to evaluate Systole, Diastole, Cardiac Output and Stroke Volume. In addition, Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Replacement, to determine proper measurements for the balloon-expansive Edwards Sapien XT Valve, Medtronic self-expanding CoreValve for Valve sizing, and EP Planning for Pulmonary Veins Analysis.
